Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo revealed that this Filipina beauty queen is her ultimate “queen-spiration”.
After winning the first-ever MUP having its own organization, Rabiya’s popularity skyrocketed. Although she did not make it to the finals, she is happy to have the chance to represent the Philippines and entered the Top 21.
The beauty queen from Iloilo City is also happy to be compared to other Pinay beauty queens. Based on the article on gmanetwork.com, many pageant fans say that she looks like Miss Universe Philippines 2011 Shamcey Supsup, Miss World 2013 Megan Young, and First Yaya actress Sanya Lopez.
Rabiya Mateo, during a recent interview on GMA’s morning show Unang Hirit, said that she feels flattered hearing these kinds of comments.
“Nakakatuwa po kasi dati, before pa ako maging Miss Universe Philippines, napapanood ko na sila sa TV, nakikita ko na talaga sila. And ngayon, sinasabi ng tao na may resemblance,” Rabiya said.
Then, the Ilongga beauty queen made a revelation. She said that she is a fan of the actress who is the first-ever winner of the Miss World crown from the Philippines.
“Actually, si Megan Young, siya po talaga ‘yung queen-spiration ko. Siya po talaga ‘yung ina-idolize ko sa lahat ng mga Miss Philippines natin. Kaya sobrang nakakatuwa po,” Rabiya Mateo said.
Meanwhile, the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 winner previously said in an interview that she will be venturing into acting after her pageant stint. She also shared that she would love to try “kontrabida” roles if she is given a chance
