Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Speaks on COVID-19 Vaccines in the City

MAYOR ISKO MORENO – Several cities in Metro Manila are currently experiencing a limited supply of the COVID-19 vaccines.

The vaccination against COVID-19 is ongoing in the Philippines now. More than 10 million people have already received their first dose of the vaccine. Several brands including Sinovac, Pfizer, and AstraZeneca arrived in the country.

PH and several other countries abroad are in the pursuit for a population protection or herd immunity. A vaccination ladder prioritizing the frontliners, the health workers, is being observed. In the Philippines, a huge part of the medical frontliners have already been vaccinated.

The vaccination of those who are aging 60 years old and above, the individuals who have co-morbidities, and the essential workers have also started. The health authorities are confident that it is still possible to achieve the population protection this year.
