Screenwriter of one of the John Lloyd-Bea movies revealed this
Onscreen partners John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo did the movie Miss You Like Crazy in 2010 and screenwriter Vanessa Valdez revealed this.
This film came after the movie One More Chance that introduced the iconic characters Popoy and Basha. In a recent article in The Philippine Star, the movie’s director Cathy Garcia-Molina said that it’s a different genre and it’s beautiful on its own.
“We wanted something different. But when it came out, the movie was compared to One More Chance, which it did not deserve. The two films are different,” the prominent filmmaker said.
She added that she is thankful that Star Cinema allowed her to do what she wanted to do in the movie. “They allowed me to do quiet scenes, but I paid the price. It did not earn as much as One More Chance,” she said.
Reportedly, screenwriter Vanessa Valdez revealed that originally the movie was intended for different actors and a director. This was pitched during the time when Star Cinema was looking for a movie for John Lloyd and Bea. “It was not originally meant for them, but it ended up being for them,” she said.
Vanessa added that since they had to shoot in a hurry, she revised the script that initially required them to shoot most parts in Malaysia.
The screenwriter also said that although One More Chance has been attached to the tandem of Lloydie and Bea, Miss You Like Crazy also has a lot of avid fans. “There are people who find this movie so relatable because we are all looking for that one person who can see through you and still love you. Somebody who can embrace us even though we are broken,” Vanessa said.
