The suspects were found with an icebox containing 300 doses of Sinovac’s CoronaVac, according to the report. According to NBI TFAID chief Ross Jonathan Galicia, they obtained information that an organization was selling vaccines to the general public.

“We used undercover agents during the surveillance and undercover work at this group was offering thousands of vaccines,” Galicia said.

The suspects mainly sell the vaccines to employees of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO), according to the NBI. They have already identified the persons involved, but they are not yet ready to release the subjects’ identities since a follow-up investigation will be conducted.

“This cannot happen because masisira ‘yong programa ng gobyerno natin to vaccinate everyone fairly or equally,” he added.

The arrested individuals were taken to the Department of Justice (DOJ) earlier in the day for proper documentation and the filing of proceedings alleging violations of the Food and Drug Administration Act.
