Ball Found Filled with Illegal Drugs After Thrown in Davao City Jail Male Dorm

Davao City jail police discovered plastic sachets of suspected illegal drugs filled inside a ball after it was allegedly thrown inside the jail.

A basketball was tossed on the roof of the Davao City Jail’s male dormitory by the alleged illegal drugs. Duty searchers in their usual jail activity reported a loud crash from the roof, according to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Davao Region.

They reacted quickly after hearing a loud crash from the roof. The ball had been ruptured, and the claimed narcotic had been wrapped in electrical tape, according to the responses.

Six sachets of suspected illegal drugs called “shabu” were discovered within the ball, according to the BJMP. Authorities are still trying to figure out who sent it and who would have received the contraband within the correctional complex.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has already taken hold of the purported shabu. In reaction to the smuggling event, the BJMP will beef up security at the detention site.
