Pia Wurtzbach Honors Ex-President Noynoy Aquino

NOYNOY AQUINO – Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach honored the late President Benigno Simeon Cojuangco Aquino III.

The 15th President of the Philippines, Benigno Simeon Cojuangco Aquino III, also known as PNoy and Noynoy, shocked many people, including his friends and family. He died on Thursday, June 24, at the age of 61.

The politician had been suffering from various illnesses since 2019 and only a few people know about his health condition. PNoy passed away because of renal disease secondary to diabetes.

According to people close to him, PNoy was actually set for a kidney transplant and even went to angioplasty as a preparation for it. Unfortunately, he died ahead of his surgery.

Based on a report from ABS-CBN, former Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Commissioner Kim Jacinto-Henares said Noynoy initially refused to undergo a kidney transplant because he felt like he’s depriving some person of something.

“But sa kakakumbinse sa kanya na ‘hindi mo naman siya dine-deprive. In fact, parang tinutulungan mo pa nga siya.’ Sa huli nakumbinse na siya,” said Henares.

Noynoy Aquino was laid to rest Saturday afternoon at the Manila Memorial Park in Paranaque City. On the day of his burial, celebrities took to their social media accounts to grieve the death of the ex-president.

Among the stars who pay final respect to the former president is Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach. On her Instagram Story, she said she’s thankful for their friendship and his support during her Miss Universe journey.

“It’s really sad to hear about the passing of former President Noynoy Aquino. I will always be thankful for his friendship and support in my journey as Miss Universe,” she wrote.

Pia Wurtzbach also sent her deepest condolences to the Aquino family. “My heartfelt condolences to his family and love ones in this time of grief,” she wrote.
