Aquino died of renal disease secondary to diabetes. According to his family, the former President was already in and out from the hospital even before the pandemic started. He was going through dialysis and also underwent angioplasty. The former Chief Executive was supposedly set for a kidney transplant.
Sadly, the death of former Pres. Noynoy Aquino came ahead of his scheduled kidney transplant. Even his sisters were shocked by his sudden demise. They are very proud and grateful to have had the opportunity to have had him as their brother.
Today, PNoy was laid to his final rest. A funeral mass was held at the Ateneo de Manila University before his inurnment as Manila Memorial Park. He was laid to rest next to his parents. According to her sisters, they would have wanted more for their brother but they respect the situation in the Philippines now amid the pandemic.
After the funeral mass, former Pres. Noynoy Aquino’s sister Ballsy Aquino-Cruz spoke about him. According to her, they were the first ones to know when their brother decided to run for president in 2010. They were inside the van of their youngest sibling, Kris Aquino, when he told them.
Ballsy shared that PNoy told them that it’s okay if they won’t support him but he has prayed over his decision to run. Although his sisters were not in favor of his decision, they assured him of their support. The eldest among the Aquino siblings said that it was her promise to their late mother that they will always help each other.
Furthermore, former Pres. Noynoy Aquino’s sister expressed that PNoy never wanted to bother them and he really did his promise to their late father when the former Senator was in jail that he will take care of his mom and his sisters. She stressed her family’s gratitude to everyone who loved their brother even though he’s not their relative.
“To the man that we were so blessed to have as our brother, habang buhay ka naming ipagmamalaki, pasasalamatan, hahanap-hanapin, at mamahalin,” the emotional Ballsy said at the funeral mass.
