PH Government Speaks on Distribution of COVID-19 Vaccines

PH GOVERNMENT – The Philippine government is prioritizing “Metro Manila Plus 8 Plus 10” in the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines.

Currently, the Philippines is pushing through in its efforts to achieve population protection against COVID-19. The national government is procuring more and more vaccines to vaccinate the people.

In the vaccination ladder observed in PH, the top priority are those people working in the healthcare field. A lot of doctors, nurses, and other medical frontliners are already fully-vaccinated against coronavirus.

A lot of senior citizens and individuals with co-morbidities have also received the COVID-19 vaccine. Amid the vaccination process, the whole Philippines remain under community quarantine measures.

The whole Metro Manila and its neighboring provinces (Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, and Laguna) which were previously under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) amid the spike of the COVID-19 cases are now under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) with restrictions.

With regards the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccines, the NCR Plus 8 which includes Metro Manila, Metro Davao, Metro Cebu, Batangas, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Pampanga, and Rizal are given priorities by the PH government. Now, more and more areas are being prioritized amid the spike in the cases of COVID-19.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Malacañang spokesman Harry Roque expressed that the PH government is now prioritizing 10 more areas in the deployment of the COVID-19 vaccines. However, he did not name the areas includes in the “Metro Manila Plus 8 Plus 10”.

According to the presidential spokesman, these areas are those that are currently experiencing a surge in the COVID-19 cases and the government assures that “there will be relief forthcoming”.

The Palace assured that Sputnik V will be arriving in the Philippines soon and more and more vaccines are procured by the government. The national government is determined to prove the reports that say PH will be among the last countries to achieve the herd immunity against COVID-19 wrong.
