Noynoy Aquino Dies: PNoy Administration Accomplishments Recalled

As former President Noynoy Aquino dies, people recall the accomplishments his administration has achieved.

NOYNOY AQUINO DIES – While the country mourns for its former head’s death, here are the accomplishments of Noynoy Aquino administration.

The 15th president of the Philippines is former President President Benigno Aquino III who died on June 24 at the age of 61. The cause of his death remained undisclosed but a close family member has confirmed his death to ABS-CBN. His family has not yet issues any official statement regarding his passing.

He is the only son of the late Senator Benigno Aquino Jr and former president Corazon Aquino and served as president of the Philippines from 2010 to 2016. And through out the six years in the highest post, he has made several changes.

Check out some of his administration’s achievements below:

  • Global Competitiveness Index of World Economic Forum listed PH in 85th in 2010 and in 2015, the country climbed to 47. Such has changed the perception of other countries to us in terms of corruption. As per Economic Freedom Index, the country landed at 115 in 2010, and in 2015, it ranked 70. The Global Enabling Trade Index of the World Economic Forum also listed PH to rank 64 in 2015 from rank 92 in 2010.
  • The country also achieved 6.2 percent average annual GDP growth which is the highest recorded in the last four decades and maintained an average of 1.4 inflation at the end of 2015.
  • The employment rate in 2015 also rose to 94.2 percent in January 2016 from 92.7 percent in 2010 while the unemployment hit the lowest 5.8 percent compared to the last several years.
  • Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program also helped 7.7 million Filipinos get out of poverty. Universal health care and access to quality health care of PhilHealth were heightened and intensified.
  • In the sector of education, from 2010 to March 2016, 89,720 classrooms were built and another 95,429 were scheduled before he stepped down. Also, 170,000 additional teachers got hired. The K-12 program was also implemented.

Also, it can be noted that he brought the issue of the West Philippine Sea to court. The Philippines won the arbitration case over the disputed waters and the late president has achieved many more. And after stepping down, people have not seen him anymore and five years after, it’s been reported that he died.
