The popularity of the Pinoy anime series is indeed overwhelming. It has gained fame not just in the Philippines but also in other countries as it was dubbed in different languages. For the Pinoy version, actress Liza Soberano had the opportunity to give life to the character of Alexandra Trese while for the English version, it was Hollywood star Shay Mitchell who also has Filipino blood.
Although there had been some intrigues against Liza’s dubbing for the anime series, there are still those who showed support for her and applauded what she did. On the other hand, there were those who reacted with humor to the ‘Trese’ fever.
Based on the article in Interkaksyon, there are two versions of the dubbing that went viral on social media just recently and it featured the voices of comedienne Rufa Mare Quinto and Queen of all Media Kris Aquino.
Tiktok user Thesalonika Nobleza Mabangue imitated the one-of-a-kind voice of Rufa Mae, including the nuances that she does every time she speaks, for the first episode of the series. “Eto na po, Ruffa Mae as Trese pero ba’t parang nanuno talaga,” the Tiktok user wrote in the caption of her post.
Another TikTokerist uploaded his entry for the ‘Trese’ dubbing. TikTok user Red Malabunga imitated the famous voice Kris Aquino. He also showcased the popular expressions of the actress-host.
“Nabaliw na naman. Not sure if Krissy or Mayor Joy,” he wrote in the caption of his post.
