Maxine Medina talked about her role in ‘First Yaya’
Beauty queen-turned-actress Maxine Medina revealed that her friends would do “pagtataray” to her when they have gatherings because of this reason.
From joining pageants, Maxine appeared to have a smooth transition when she ventured into acting. In a previous interview, she said that her stints in the world of beauty pageants helped her a lot when she started her acting career.
Somehow, joining pageants made her adept in handling people around her and she used this for her acting stints. Fortunately, she was given various TV projects when she ventured into acting and the recent one is GMA’s First Yaya featuring Sanya Lopez and Gabby Concepcion.
Maxine Medina played the “kontrabida” role and apparently, her acting is very effective. Talking to Kapaso entertainment reporter Lhar Santiago, the actress said that she would receive hate comments from netizens due to her character in First Yaya.
She is playing the character of Lorraine who always gives Yaya Melody, the character played by Sanya, a hard time. “Ang ginagawa ko lang, since natutuwa ako dahil effective, nireretweet ko na lang lahat,” she shared.
Maxine added that even her friends would make “pagtataray” to her because of her “mataray” character. “Every time na may gathering kami, kahit ‘yung mga friends ko, ‘Hoy Lorraine! Lorraine halika nga rito. Ako ang Lorraine ngayon ha, hindi ikaw,'” Maxine Medina enthused.
For celebrities who play “kontrabida” roles, it is quite an achievement that viewers are getting angry with them because it only means that they are effectively portraying their role as the antagonist in the series.
