Kalesa Operator Shot to Death by Co-Operator Who was Allegedly Pissed to Him

KALESA OPERATOR SHOT – A man dies after he was shot to death by his co-operator who was allegedly pissed to him while mocking each other.

A kalesa (rickshaw) driver in Tondo, Manila, was shot and killed early Sunday morning by a fellow driver who apparently became enraged over their fake chat. Arsenio dela Cruz, a 63-year-old man, was the victim.

The incident occurred in Barangay 91. The interaction began when the victim grew interested in what the suspect, Enrique Calila, 55, had to say about the kare-kare, according to GMA News.

When the suspect returned, he shot the victim twice. On CCTV, the suspect was seen fleeing with a man named Mark Lester Isavedra.

The two checked into a motel on Rizal Avenue in Tayuman to hide, but after a day, the suspect also surrendered. The suspect did not specify where the gun was thrown.

Based on the report, the suspect will face homicide charges, while Isavedra will face charges of obstruction of justice. A relative of the victim demanded that justice be served.
