Immigration to Deport 15 Chinese Nationals Illegally Working in Cavite

15 Chinese Nationals Illegally Working in Cavite Eyes to Be Deported by Immigration

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) will deport 15 Chinese nationals who were allegedly found to be working illegally in the Philippines.

The Chinese nationals were apprehended by BI and police operatives on Wednesday at a business area in Barangay Niog II in Bacoor, Cavite, according to Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente. The foreign nationals’ passports allegedly allowed them to work in different company, but not in the Philippines.

When their paperwork were checked, it was discovered that ten of them had working visas petitioned by a different company. Labor visas are company and activity specific, according to Morente, and should not be used for other forms of work for another company.

The aliens were detected working as office employees and stock managers in the warehouses, according to a report from the BI Intelligence Division. The Chinese nationals will be subjected to RT-PCR testing and quarantine, and will be held at the Bureau of Immigration’s Warden Facility in Bicutan, Taguig City, until they are deported.

“We urge foreign nationals to legitimize their stay here in the country, lest they face expulsion and blacklisting,” Morente said.
