A new movie for Taylor Swift and Anya Taylor-Joy
11-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift is set to star in Joy director David O. Russell’s film with The Queen’s Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy.
Taylor has recently played Bombalurina in the feature adaptation of Cats and she did a Netflix documentary titled Miss Americana. Among her recent projects included Disney+ documentary Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions. This showed her journey in making her album of the same name.
Previously, she voiced the love interest of Zac Efron’s character in the movie The Lorax. The singer-songwriter also appeared in the movie The Giver with Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges.
Now, Taylor Swift is set to return to the big screen with the actress of the Netflix original series about the mind-blowing story behind the life of a female chess player. Anya Taylor-Joy received positive feedback in her portrayal of the character of Elizabeth Harmon. She also had a remarkable performance in the movie Emma in 2020.
Her acting prowess will be displayed once again in an upcoming movie with Taylor. Based on the article in The Hollywood Reporter, this project is a star-studded movie as the cast includes Margot Robbie, Christian Bale, John David Washington, Rami Malek, Zoe Saldana, Chris Rock, Mike Myers, Robert De Niro, Michael Shannon, and Timothy Olyphant.
Matthew Budman will produce this film along with writer-director David Russel. Reportedly, the production that took place in Los Angeles is already done. However, details of the movie are kept under wraps aside from that is it a period piece.
The movie is 20th Century Studios and the company has not released information yet regarding the release date of the movie.
