Davao City Hall Employees Go Through Swab Test for COVID-19

DAVAO CITY HALL EMPLOYEES – More than 1,000 workers in the city hall in Davao City went through a COVID-19 swab test and the results are out.

Daily, there are still new cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines thus the authorities continue to remind the public not to let their guards down. The health protocols including the wearing of face mask and the practice of social distancing must still be observed.

COVID-19 has taken millions of lives across the globe. Unfortunately, amid the fights against the said coronavirus disease, new variants of the virus were detected in several countries. It is amid the vaccination program.

Several companies have developed COVID-19 vaccines. Among the jabs that Philippines received are Sinovac, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, and Moderna.

The vaccination of the healthcare workers, the senior citizens, and those individuals who have co-morbidities have already started. The national government is also eyeing to start the vaccination of the economic frontliners and the poor Filipinos this month. It also targets the vaccination of the government employees.

Based on a report in ABS-CBN News, recently, 1,083 Davao City Hall employees went through a swab test. The results stated that 44 of them are positive for COVID-19. The said workers are now under quarantine.

According to the report, almost all of the Davao City Hall employees who tested positive for COVID-19 belong to ground floor offices. The CHO is set to conduct a disinfection in the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) building.

Furthermore, the SP building is under lockdown since Monday due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases among the people working in the building. The services they offer continue in their district offices.
