Son of Farmer in Mindanao Got Full Scholar Admission at Yale University in the USA

A farmer son from Mindanao was accepted as a full scholar at Yale University, one of the most prestigious universities in the United States.

The son of a Mindanao teacher and farmer was given the opportunity to attend Yale University in Connecticut, United States. Yale University is consistently ranked among the best universities in the world in large international surveys.

Nathan Wayne Ariston, a graduate of the Class of 2021 of the Philippine Science High School-Central Mindanao, has been accepted to Yale as a “full scholar” in addition to receiving a casual acceptance. He stated that he intends to enroll in a Physics course at the aforementioned Ivy League institution.

Nathan also received offers from the Georgia Institute of Technology in the USA, the University of California – Irvine in the USA, and the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, according to Philippine Science High School.

“Taking pride in his Teduray indigenous roots, Nathan Wayne F. Ariston will study at Yale University, a prestigious Ivy League school, where he is planning to major in physics,” the school said.

His full-ride scholarship, according to the institution, will cover the annual estimated cost of attendance. Nathan was taken aback by the opportunity he had been given. Nathan is also the first graduate of PSHS-CMC to get accepted to Yale.

“I feel so lucky for being part of the Yale Class of 2025. And it just excites me that I am given the opportunity to explore beyond anywhere I’ve been so far to learn and to contribute to the community there and eventually here as well , ”Said Nathan.

“I don’t expect to get to a university like Yale.” Then it’s more fun ‘the financial aid they offer me because it’s a full ride’ my studies so I’m really happy because I won’t be a burden maybe in my parents’ financial problems anymore,” he said in an interview with Unang Hirit on GMA.
