BEA ALONZO – Actress Bea Alonzo said John Lloyd Cruz became a “life saver” when she ran out of money in Dubai.
Filipina actress Bea Alonzo is one of the most famous and successful actresses in the Philippines. She shot to superstardom due to her films with actor John Lloyd Cruz.
From teenybopper roles to a married couple, their tandem has matured through the years. Their on-screen pairing began with the 2003 film titled “My First Romance.” She was only fifteen years old and a newbie in the entertainment business compared to John Lloyd who was 20 and quite famous at that time.
A lot of films then followed in succeeding years namely “All About Love,” “Close To You,” and “Now That I Have You.” These movies solidify their box office draw.
In 2007, our all-time favorite cult classic “One More Chance” catapulted the Bea-John Lloyd tandem to fame with their characters Basha and Popoy. The two have definitely made a mark in the movie industry.
Recently, Bea Alonzo shared one remarkable story of her and her mom when they were in Dubai. She shared it in her latest Youtube vlog titled “MY TOP 10 TRAVEL DESTINATIONS.”
When the prominent actress started talking about Dubai Gold Souk, she could not help but share her remarkable experience related to the place.
“May, istorya ako diyan. ‘Yung nanay ko, the first time we ever went to Dubai, parang we had this show (Return of the Champions) with the champions pa at that time. So at that point, I was really jet-lagged, I was really tired. So sabi ko kay Mama, hindi na ako sasama doon sa Gold Souk. She went with the group, ako natulog lang ako hotel. At this point, wala pa akong credit card nito. My mom arrived at the hotel, ang dami nilang dalang alahas.”
“So nagtanong ako, ‘Asan na ‘yung talent fee Ma?’ Nagastos nila lahat sa gold Souk,” Bea said.
Bea Alonzo then revealed that her on-screen partner became their “life saver” at that time since they had no more pocket money. She said the actor helped them pay for their meals.
“Sa buong 5 days or one week namin sa Dubai, wala kaming pera, as in sumasama lang kami kay John Lloyd para magpalibre ng meals. Binayaran naman namin siya pagdating sa Manila,” she said.
