Derek Ramsay talked about his son Austin
Actor Derek Ramsay shared his views on the possibility that his 18-year-old son Austin Ramsay will also enter the world of show business.
During a recent guesting on Rise Up Stronger: The Road to NCAA Season 96, the hunk actor happily shared the things about his son. He said that Austin is a very competitive kid even though he just introduced him to sports when he was 14 years old.
Austin is the son of the actor with former wife Mary Joy Christine Jolly. Based on the article in gmanetwork.com, the kid only lived with Derek four years ago.
“He spent most of his life in Dubai. He came to me when he was at the age of 14, so that’s when I got him into sports. But you can see with Austin that he has those fast-twitch muscles. He’s not a big kid, but he’s very strong for his size like he’s beating kids older than him at arm wrestling,” the celebrity father enthused.
Derek Ramsay added that he would encourage Austin to play sports because just like many youngsters, he is also into video games.
“I want him to be able to experience being under the sun, being outdoors socializing with other people. But unfortunately, with the whole pandemic now, it’s even much harder to do that,” the hunk actor said.
He added that his son is very competitive and he is really determine to win like when their doing arm wrestling. Derek proudly shared that Austin does not want to give.
“He’s really a good kid. He’s turning 18 but I still look at Austin like he’s 13, 14 years old,” Derek also said. With this kind of attitude of his son, the actor is looking forward to the amazing things that he can do in the future.
When asked if what is his opinion if Austin will eventually decide to be in showbiz also, Derek Ramsay answered, “If he wants to go into acting [I will support him]. I only have one rule: Finish college first, get a degree, and then you can do whatever you want.”
