Multi-awarded singer-songwriter Bruno Mars now becomes officially the first-ever artist to ear the five (5) Diamond Single Awards.

Recording Industry Association Of America (RIAA) announced this achievement of the Filipino-American singer on May 22. Indeed, this recognition added another reason for Filipinos to be proud of when it comes to globally-known talents.

Congratulations to @BrunoMars, the first + only artist in Gold & Platinum Awards history to earn FIVE Diamond Single Awards,” the Twitter post of RIAA stated.

Based on its writeup about Bruno Mars’s newest achievement, the songs of the Fil-Am artist – “That’s What I Like”, “When I Was Your Man”, Just the Way You Are, “Grenade”, and “Uptown Funk! (Mark Ronson) – are diamond certified, selling and streaming over 10 million copies.

Mitch Glazier, Chairman and CEO, RIAA said that these awards only show the hard work, dedication, and superb talent that Bruno has. “What Bruno has accomplished is just extraordinary. Fewer than 60 Diamond Single Awards have ever been awarded – and Bruno now has five of them!” Glazier added.

Bruno Mars showed appreciation for being recognized through his Twitter post. “Love you Hooligans. Thanks for rockin with me throughout this incredible journey. We’ve only just begun,” he wrote.

This newest achievement of the Fil-Am artists came after the success of Silk Sonic’s debut single “Leave the Door Open”. The said song of Bruno returns for the second week to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and it is his eighth #1 track on the Hot 100. It has achieved 702 million global streams while its music video has reached 222.5 million views.
