Man Allegedly Got Offered with COVID-19 Vaccine Slot for Worth P12,500

Man Got Offered with COVID-19 Vaccine Slot for Worth P12,500 in Mandaluyong

A concerned man exposed that he was offered by his friend with COVID-19 vaccine slot for worth P12,500 in Mandalayong City.

According to a GMA news article, a man was allegedly offered up to P12,500 for a slot in the COVID-19 vaccine. Norman Rabaya claims that a college classmate asked him out of the blue if he was looking for an Astra Zeneca or Pfizer vaccine.

“Sa classmate ko po noong college. Out of the blue lang po minessage niya ako na if naghahanap ako ng Astra[Zeneca] or Pfizer vaccine, meron daw po siyang binibenta. LGU slots ‘yung binibenta niya,” he said.

His classmate told him that he was selling vaccination slots, which were discovered to be for local government unit (LGU) officials, he said. Rabaya, a Las Piñas City resident, claims that an acquaintance sells the Pfizer vaccine for P15,500, but only P12,000 to P12,500 if you know the buyer.

Mandaluyong City will be the site of the vaccination. When Rabaya revealed that he was friends with Vice Mayor’s niece, the seller became concerned and withdrew his vaccine bid.

Rabaya confirmed his friend selling the vaccine to the authorities. Since they only have an emergency use authorization (EUA) from the Food and Drug Administration, selling vaccines into the country is illegal.

The police urged the public not to enjoy the selling of vaccinations because local government units have a prioritization list for those who wish to get vaccinated. Chairman of the Metro Manila Council (MMC), Edwin Olivarez, stated that the entire Metro Manila would be investigated, not just San Juan and Mandaluyong, where the vaccine sale was first confirmed.
