Poor Family Shares w/ 1 Piece of Fish Due to Extreme Poverty
A poor family with six members are sharing with a piece of fish given by their neighbor as hunger and malnutrition increases.
The Kapuso show Stand For Truth featured the family of Manuel Tausa in Tondo, Manila. Tausa thriftily utilizes his small income for the expenses of his wife and six children amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Mang Manuel is prioritizing the rice and would buy egg, salted shrimp paste, dried fish, and vegetables to save. One of his children is also underweight for having not enough food and nutrition.
“Sinasabi ko lang, magtiis tayo kasi ‘yan lang ang abot-kaya ko eh. Hindi naman tayo puwedeng magnakaw, huhulihin din tayo,” Manuel said.
Tausa’s wife, Rosemarie is also patiently queuing at feeding programs to provide foods for their young children. The poor family is also sharing with a piece of fish given by their neighbor who took pity of their situation.
Aside from Tausa family, a lot of Filipino families are experiencing similar problems due to poverty. A lot of Filipinos are experiencing hunger and malnutrition due to lack of food.

“Minsan nakakakain din kami, minsan wala. Minsan sa isang araw na hindi na kami nakakakain, umiiyak lang ako tapos dinadasal ko lang din na sana may taong tumulong sa amin,” Abegail Molito of Infanta, Quezon who six kids said.
