Fans of Rabiya Mateo criticized Catriona Gray because of this reason
Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray received allegations that she is not supporting Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo for the international pageant.
Several Pinay beauty queens have expressed their support for the representative of the Philippines in the most prestigious international beauty competition.
Miss Universe 1999 first runner-up Miriam Quiambao shared beautiful words for Rabiya as well as Miss Universe 2013 third runner-up Ariella Arida. Shamcey Supsup, the Miss Universe 2011 third runner-up, who is now the head of Miss Universe Philippines Organization (MUPO) expressed confidence that the Ilongga beauty queen will do great.
Even Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and the first-ever Pinay Miss Universe Gloria Diaz, shared wonderful and inspiring words for Rabiya Mateo.
However, based on the article in Abante Entertainment, Catriona Gray allegedly did not do anything to show support for her fellow Pinay beauty queen. Because of this, the fourth Pinay Miss Universe received criticisms, especially from the fans of Rabiya.
Reportedly, netizens were sort of telling Catriona to post something about Rabiya and encourage her social media followers to vote. This is in order for the Pinay beauty queen to be included in Top 21. Some netizens pointed out that with the vast followers of Catriona it will be a big help for Rabiya.
Entertainment columnist Dondon Sermina said that this was the answer of Catriona Gray to the fans of Rabiya Mateo who are looking for her evident support:
“I’ve reached to Rabiya Mateo throughout her journey privately. Not everything is on display on social media.”
