This is how these respected GMA reporters handled “na-suspend” news amid “24 Oras” live.
GMA REPORTERS – Vicky Morales, Pia Arcangel, and Atom Araullo were lauded online for professionally handling an unexpected error amid live airing.
During the live airing of a certain program, you cannot expect an entire flawless show because of the mere fact that it is live. One might encounter some problems or technical errors in the middle but one thing is for sure, how the person handled or reacted for a solution to it is the key.
And just recently, Kapuso reporters Vicky Morales, Pia Arcangel, and Atom Araullo received some positive comments online for keeping the airing alive despite some technical errors. Reporting about “baby consonant” whose full name is Ghlynnyl Hylhyr Yzzyghyl, they encountered some errors as the report won’t show. They tried to continue a couple of times but to no avail.
Calmly, Vicky first said as she was the one who introduced this news, “Na-suspend! At saka na lang natin babalikan iyang kuwentong iyan, siguro, bukas ano? Wala na tayong time, sige.”
However, it seemed like the management did not agree to this. And to snap off the dead air, Vicky initiated a talk to her fellow news anchors about their names. He asked Atom how his name was derived and he answered that it’s the two names of his two grandfathers. And asking Pia the same, she replied,“Ako, ipinangalan ako kay Padre Pio kasi hirap iyong mother ko noong nagbubuntis siya sa akin. Kay Padre Pio.”
Vicky, on the other hand, wasn’t able to answer where her name has come from because she hasn’t asked her mother yet. Afterward, the news was introduced again and again it went blackout which led them to actually end there and gave their viewers some cliffhangers about this.
