Gigo, the son of Claire dela Fuente, happy for Dacera case dismissal
The son of OPM icon Claire dela Fuente, Gigo de Guzman, expressed relief following the Christine Dacera case dismissal.
Gigo is one of the suspects in the unexpected death of the flight attendant on the morning after their New Year’s party at a hotel.
When Gigo’s name was dragged into this matter, his mother showed immense support for him. In past interviews about the case, the late veteran singer would stress the innocence of her son.
However, amid the fight of Gigo to prove that he has done nothing wrong to the woman who they considered friends, he lost his mother, Claire dela Fuente after she tested positive for COVID-19.
On April 27, the Makati Prosecutor’s Office dismissed the rape with homicide case against Gigo de Guzman and other suspects. However, Gigo has no longer has his mother to celebrate with him.
In his Instagram Story, after six months which is the heaviest part of his life so far, he can now breathe. He shared that he felt his mom’s absence when he went to the Makati City Hall.
Gigo added that she wished he also felt the sense of comfort like what his peers felt when they show the case dismissal document to their parents.
Nevertheless, he felt that he and his mother, Claire dela Fuente, triumphed above this battle. “Ma, we did it. One step forward…” Gigo de Guzman wrote.
Based on the article in PEP, the son of the late veteran singer said that this is not completely over.
“Today’s resolution lifted some of the weight these past 6 months. But the damage has been done. It’s still not completely over, but at least for today we can breathe a sigh of relief,” Gigo said in a text message.
The cases filed by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), which are allegedly against the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, perjury, obstruction of justice, at reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, still have no decisions yet.
