Angel Locsin Pantry Controversy: ABS-CBN Network Releases Statement

The ABS-CBN network released an official statement regarding the issues associated with Angel Locsin and the community pantry she put up.

ANGEL LOCSIN – Kapamilya actresss Angel Locsin faces issue regarding her community pantry and this is the statement ABS-CBN has released.

Due to a long queue and long hours of waiting, an elderly aged over 60 years collapsed and died amid the crowd’s chaos in the community pantry that actress and philanthropist Angel Locsin has put up. She chose to copy the viral movement settling in Quezon City where many people from various have flocked their way to, creating an uncontrollable crowd.

She announced this through her social media pages where millions of people online are following. Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Teodoro “Teddy Boy” Locsin Jr. took to social media and air his sentiments about it. He defended the actress. He said in a Tweet referring to the incident where a 67-year-old senior citien died, “No forgiveness needed; at least she tried to feed them; one was so starved and weak she couldn’t feed him in time.”

The former TV anchor and commentator also expressed in a separate post to stay away from political advisers and lauded her poor intention to feed the hungry instead of her ego just how others are doing. Locsin has since apologized for the death of the old man and shared how regretful she is of what has happened. The old man’s name is Rolando Dela Cruz who was declared dead on arrival after he was rushed to a hospital.

With all these issues circulating online against the actress, her network, the ABS-CBN, released a statement about it and stood by her amid the issues and controversies of her community pantry. In the statement, the network expressed that they believed in the “goodness of the heart” of the actress. She’s accordingly been tirelessly helping the people in need in her own capacity and serving the people like what she does is something admirable.

“We stand by her and thank her for being a shining example of generosity, accountability, and compassion,” it added. Fellow celebrities of the actress like Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Iza Calzado, and Bea Alonzo reached out to her with their love and support as they know well her pure intentions.
