Kaye Abad Admits Having P800 Talent Fee Before, No Regrets In Career

Actress Kaye Abad revealed that her talent fee during her Ang TV days was just P800 every week but she has no regrets when it comes t her showbiz career.

Kaye was one of the young stars in the kiddie gag show of the Kapamilya network during the 90s. During a recent episode of Kapuso star Paolo Contis’ talk show Just In, Kaye talked about her career path.

She shared that her talent fee back then was just almost enough for her transportation expenses during taping days including the outfits she used for the show.

Based on the article in Bandera, despite that situation as a newbie, Kaye Abad said that she does not regret anything. “Walang pagsisisi. Kasi I started not so young, not like you. I started 13 already, so wala ako masyadong na-miss,” the actress said.

She also said that she was able to enjoy her childhood before becoming serious for her showbiz career. This goes also with her career path when was already spending years as an actress.

“Pati yung career path ko noon gradual lang. Hindi yung super sikat, pero hindi rin naman yung walang trabaho. So, swabe siyang tumakbo. Hindi katulad nu’ng iba na nag-start pa lang sikat agad tapos bumagsak, nag-struggle. Wala akong regret sa tinakbo ng career ko at sa showbiz,” Kaye said.

The actress who was known for her tandem with John Lloyd Cruz in Tabing Ilog, also shared a piece of advice to those who want to be in showbiz. She said that being an actor is not just about fame and earning money.

Kaye shared that she would hear many times newbies saying that they want to help their family financially as their reason why they are entering the entertainment industry.

Hindi lang yon ganu’n, di ba? Laging ganu’n, eh. Sabi ko talaga, kung hindi mo gustong umarte, wala kang patience, you will not survive,” she said.

The actress also stressed that if one wants to be an artista, he or she should love acting. “You study. Pag-aralan mo yung pag-arte. Hindi madali yung ginagawa namin. Kung gusto niyong makatulong sa pamilya n’yo, magtrabaho kayo. May ibang ways. Kasi feeling ng mga tao easy money ang showbiz, eh,” Kaye Abad stressed.
