OFW in Israel Shares New Situation of the Country After Mask-Free Announcement

An Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) based in Israel shares the new situation of the country after the government announced the no more outdoor mask rule.

Recently, the government of Israel declared that it had abandoned its outdoor mask mandate program after vaccinating half of its citizens. Masks are still needed in indoor public spaces such as malls, places of worship, and shops.

The nation is the best example of how successful vaccine rollouts will help both the country and its people. Not only that, but the nation has also taken another step forward by reopening all of its schools.

Meanwhile, an OFW shared the situation in Israel after the good news that people there can no longer wear face masks when in outdoor and open space after their COVID-19 cases dropped. Karen has spent the last two years working as a caregiver in Israel

“Buhay na buhay na ngayon ang bansang Israel, dahil napaka-good news noong Sunday… actually hindi pa dumarating ang Sunday, itong ating mga kababayan dito at mga Israeli talaga nga namang inaabangan ang announcement ng Israeli government na allowed na hindi magsuot ng mask dito sa mga public place,” said Karen Crisostomo, a native of Pangasinan, in an interview with GMA Regional TV.

She did say, however, that they continue to take health precautions there. They must also follow health guidelines, which involve wearing a face mask indoors.

She also hopes that her dear country, the Philippines, can also keep up to the change. “Hindi naman natin sinasabing walang pagbabago. Pero siyempre kailangan makita natin ‘yung progress din na wala na rin ‘yung mask,” she said,
