Gerald Anderson Reacts To “Budoy” Used As Insult To Him & Other People

This is the reaction of Gerald Anderson about using “Budoy” to demean other people and bash him.

GERALD ANDERSON – Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson reacts to the use of his iconic character “Budoy” to insult him and demean the other people.

Budoy” is the mentally challenged character that Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson portrayed known for the main character’s catchphrases such as “Hello, ako Budoy! and “Jackie, gusto mo BJ?“. Budoy has Angelman syndrome which causes the delay of his intellectual development. The drama series won as the “Best Drama Series” in 34th Catholic Mass Media Awards in 2012 and nominated in the same category in 2013 New York Television and Film Festivals.

However, with all the issus being currently thrown at the actor, his iconic character before, instead of being recognized, is now used to demean by the people to others and to bash him. As much as many people are aware, he is among the most controversial personalities as of today because of the issues regarding his love life. And speaking about “Budoy” being used as an insult, he expressed of being not offended at all and even glad that despite the many years that have passed, people can still remember that particular role he played.

“Iyong magbigay ng hate — even not using Budoy — it shows your character. [But] for you to use the character of Budoy, isang special child… Paano mo nata-type ‘yun? Ano’ng tumatakbo sa isip mo para mag-hate ka and use ‘yung ganoong klaseng tao to get back at me for whatever reason kung bakit ayaw mo sa akin?” he added.

Although it doesn’t affect him, it just saddened him for people to do such. The actor furthered that he will forever be proud of “Budoy” and if people will call him that all his life, it is accordingly something he will accept and receive with pride. The “Init Sa Magdamag” also regarded that the ABS-CBN teleserye where he played the role is a “highlight of is career and his life.”
