PAGASA Says Typhoon Bising Maintains Strength, 8 Areas Under Signal No.2

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Monday (April 19)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that Typhoon Bising maintained its strength and eight areas remained under signal no.2.

On Monday (April 19, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather updates in the country. Typhoon Bising would continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the typhoon has maximum sustained winds of 195 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 240 kph. Bising was last located 250 kilometers east northeast of Virac, Catanduanes.

Bising is expected to bring cloudy conditions with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Apayao, Abra, Benguet, Kalinga, Ifugao and Mountain Province. It would also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers over Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union and Pangasinan.

The weather bureau also warned the public to take precautionary measures for possible flashfloods and landslides due to the effects of the typhoon.

PAGASA said that eight areas remained under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2. Here are the areas under signal no.2.

  • Catanduanes,
  • Eastern portion of Camarines Sur
  • Rastern portion of Albay
  • Rastern and central portions of Sorsogon (Castilla, Sorsogon City, Prieto Diaz, Gubat, Barcelona, Casiguran, Juban, Magallanes, Bulan, Bulusan, Irosin, Santa Magdalena, Matnog)
  • Northern Samar
  • Samar
  • Eastern Samar
  • Biliran

Here are the areas under signal no.1:

  • Eastern portion of Isabela, the northern portion of Aurora
  • Southeastern portion of Quezon including Polillo Islands,
  • Camarines North
  • The rest of Camarines Sur
  • The rest of Albay
  • The rest of Sorsogon
  • Masbate including Burias and Ticao Islands
  • Leyte,
  • Southern Leyte
  • The northern portion of Cebu including Bantayan and Camotes Islands
  • Dinagat Islands,
  • Siargao Islands
  • Bucas Grande Islands

The typhoon is expected to maintain its strength for the next 12 to 24 hours.
