Lucy Torres To Run For Senator In 2022 Elections? Here’s her reaction

What could be Lucy Torres’ next step for her political career?

Leyte 4th District Rep. Lucy Torres reacted to the speculations that she might run for Senator in the 2022 elections as her name is among the senatorial preferences.

A survey that was conducted by the OCTA Research Team that covered the date Jan. 26 to Feb. 1, showed that the wife of Ormoc City Mayor Richard Gomez was one of the politicians that the 1,200 correspondents chose.

Based on a previous article in Manila Bulletin, Torres got 27 percent. This means that she is in 12th to 24th place in the senatorial survey.

In a recent article in Bandera, a survey from Pulse Asia stated that the Representative from Leyte ranked 5th in the senatorial survey. The top 4 politicians for the position of Senator were Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, Sen. Manny Pacquiao, Dr. Willie Ong (who ran the last election), and Sorsogon Gov. Chiz Escudero.

In her recent Facebook post, the congresswoman answered the speculations regarding her political plans for the future. She shared a photo of a tabloid front page. An article about her has this title: “Lucy Torres Palaban Sa Senado”.

She wrote this in the caption of her post: “Only God knows, only time will tell. For now, I have a job to do as Representative of the 4th District of Leyte.” Many netizens who commented on this post of the congressman expressed that they want her to run for Senator.

This could mean that Lucy Torres is not closing her doors for running the senatorial bid. Reportedly, Richard Gomez has already confirmed that his wife wants to run in the 2022 elections. However, this will still depend on the results of the surveys.
