According to an ABS-CBN News article, barangay officials pursued the two men until they entered a neighboring barangay, where the suspects were apprehended. The owner of the stolen e-bike was identified as a vegetable vendor.

The e-bike was simply parked in front of their house after shopping for vegetables at Divisoria, according to Arlene Rosario. When the e-bike was discovered missing, she said that he did not expect it to be returned, and that he was devastated, particularly because they had been paying for the e-bike for ten months.

According to barangay chairman Jeff Fabian, there have been incidents of theft of e-bikes and e-bike batteries in their area so residents should keep them carefully or chained. It was discovered that the thieves used only a fork to loosen the steering wheel.

It is being investigated whether 3 of the other incidents of theft were involved, especially since an e-bike battery was found in the group’s tricycle getaway vehicle. The victim decided to file a theft case against the 3 suspects.
