Throughout the history of the pageant, there were already four Pinay beauty queens who were crowned Miss Universe – Gloria Diaz, Margie Moran, Pia Wurtzbach, and Catriona Gray.

For her fight to win the title, over 100 designers took part to make her outfits stand out, based on the article in GMA. From her departure, the Pinay beauty queen already showcased the beautiful creation from Filipino designersChino Christopherson at Mark Ramsay.

She wore a modern barong with pearl and crystal embellishments and black trousers. When she arrived in Los Angeles, she showcased the creation of Nono Palmos which is a printed blazer dress.

Rabiya Mateo’s blue-green pantsuit with Filipiniana sleeves with pearls at seashells trimmings was designed by Marlon Tuazon. This outfit is so delicate to the point that stylists Rain Dagala and Em Millan had to coordinate with the pageant organizers in order to make sure that it is well-packed.

More or less 80 candidates from around the globe will be vying for the Miss Universe crown this year. The 69th edition of the international pageant is set to be held on May 16 (Sunday 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time) or May 17 (Philippine time).
