JINGGOY ESTRADA – The Former Senator said that being the eldest, it is natural that his family would rely on his decisions about their father, former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada.

The Philippines is one of the countries hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. This coronavirus disease has shaken the healthcare systems of over 200 countries and territories across the globe.

In PH, the people’s way of living is greatly affected by the pandemic – everyone has to wear a face mask and practice social distancing when going outdoors, students are under blended learning classes, community quarantine measures are up in the country, etc.

A lot of famous personalities from the different field contracted COVID-19. One of them is former Pres. Joseph “Erap” Estrada who is still in the hospital now.

Former President Estrada was brought to the hospital after his oxygen level dropped. He was also transferred from a regular quarantine room to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and was intubated to assist his breathing.

It is former Senator Jinggoy Estrada who is facilitating and deciding about former Pres. Erap Estrada. He is also the one who gives update about the former President’s condition in the hospital.

Based on a report on Pep, the former Senator stressed that he is not only giving updates to their family but as well as the public as his father is a former President. In their family, he is the one who makes decisions about their father.

“I have no choice. Ako ang panganay. Natural lang na iasa nila sa akin lahat ang mga desisyon,” the former Senator said in an interview with DZRH.

According to former Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, his siblings mights blame him over one wrong decision about their father that is why he is really careful in making a decision. He stressed that he really studies what he has to do.

Based on the report, the former Senator and is family are happy over the improvements in the condition of former President Erap. He is turning 84 years old on April 19 but it is still not sure if he can go out from the hospital already.

According to former Sen. Jinggoy, he and his siblings has a group chat where he updates them about their father’s condition. Even his siblings in the United States are relying on information in the said group chat that he made.

The elder sisters of former Pres. Erap and Jinggoy’s wife, Precy, also tested positive for COVID-19. They are asymptomatic thus they don’t have to be brought in the hospital.
