BONG REVILLA – Lawyer Richard Cambe, the former chief of staff of Senator Ramon Revilla Jr., who was jailed at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa due to PDAF issue died.

One of the biggest corruption issues in the history of Philippine politics was the alleged misuse of the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam. It is also called as the Pork Barrel scam. Several political figures were involved in the said scam.

Sen. Bong Revilla is one of those whose names were involved in the said scam. Also involved were his then Chief of Staff, lawyer Richard Cambe, and businesswoman Janet Lim-Napoles.

Revilla, Cambe, and Napoles were detained. The Senator was detained at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in 2014. The issue has garnered different reactions from the public.

In 2018, Sandiganbayan acquitted Sen. Revilla while his former chief of staff was found guilty of plunder. Napoles was also convicted and they were sentenced to reclusion perpetua or a maximum of 40 years in jail.

The lawyer was convicted for amassing Php 224.5 million worth of the PDAF fund of the Senator. He was jailed at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City.

Recently, an update about Atty. Richard Cambe crossed the surface. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the former Chief of Staff of Sen. Bong Revilla died in jail. His death was confirmed by the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).

The former Chief of Staff of Sen. Bong Revilla was reportedly brought to the hospital in Muntinlupa but he passed away. BuCor said that his family was already informed about his death.
