The famous bakeshop in the Philippines Julie’s Bakeshop’s baffling latest commercial goes viral and left netizens confused.

Filipino commercials nowadays left netizens confused over baffling concepts of their advertisements during the pandemic. Just like RC Cola and Orocan who released weird commercials and earned various reactions from the netizens.

The Mega also released a new commercial for their Spanish Style Tuna. The commercial claims that its new tuna is so delicious even a common house gecko would want to steal it from you.

Meanwhile, Julie’s Bakeshop’s latest ads join the odd concept for their 40th anniversary. The shop released a baffling “Masa Hero” advertisement that once again left netizens confused, shocked, and amused.

 The video starts with two middle-aged ladies working out in a gym. Then a skinny man with ‘abs’ “Tita-shamed” the ladies who are much older than him.

Tita Julie enters the scene and confronted that skinny man. What makes the advertisement weird is she quite literally made pandesal out of him.

Shortly after the video’s release, #StopTitaShaming trended on various social media platforms. Netizens seem to be torn between wanting to support the commercial and feeling disturbed.

In a statement, Marc San Juan, National Marketing Head of Julie’s Bakeshop, explained that “titas can be cool and very dynamic.” “Our founder, Mrs. Julie Gandionco, was already in her 50s when she decided to start her own bakeshop.  Now it’s grown to a network of more than 450 stores all over the Philippines,” he said.
