Ogie Diaz had this experience with Marjorie Barretto
Comedian-talent manager Ogie Diaz made a revelation about Marjorie Barretto when they did the movie Angel Na Walang Langit in 1994.
The said movie was directed by award-winning filmmaker Joel Lamangan. Ogie shared in his recent Showbiz Updates vlog with Mama Loi that they were shooting in Pasig when an intense incident happened between Direk Joel and Marjorie.
The comedian said that it was a scene when he and Marjorie were walking and the latter should cry. Ogie said that Direk Joel was in a hurry because that was already dawn and the scene should look like it was still night time.
However, Marjorie Barretto could not get out the emotions that would make her cry. With that, the prominent director went to her and was shouting.
Ogie Diaz imitated the reaction of Direk Joel when he said, “Cut! Ano ba?!” The talent manager added, “Na-tense ako at super lumalagatok ‘yong mga mura.”
Then, Ogie shared that the director said to Marjorie, “Anong klase kang artista? Sana hindi ka na lang nag-artista! Mas magaling pa sa’yo ang mga kapatid mo!”
The talent manager added that the director even compared Marjorie’s status in showbiz to the status of Gretchen and Claudine Barretto. “Ang mga kapatid mo sikat na, ikaw nandiyan pa rin! Hindi ka kasi marunong umarte,” Ogie related the statement of Direk Joel.
After that fierce words from the movie director, Ogie Diaz said that Marjorie Barretto went emotional and she was able to do the scene that required her to cry. The comedian said that Direk Joel commended Marjorie after she did the scene, with the words “very good!”
