“Kidnap or Padala” Group Member Arrested in an Entrapment Operation in Bulacan

Police arrested an alleged member of kidnapping group called “kidnap or padala” during an entrapment operation in Bulacan.

A 32-year-old member of the “kidnap or padala” group was arrested in an entrapment operation by the police after threatening to abduct a man and his family in case he did not send money to San Ildefonso, Bulacan.

Police identified the arrested suspect as Edison Venturina while his brother Richard, a resident of Brgy. Calawitan. The 42-year-old victim, a resident of Balut, Tondo, Manila, was identified as “Jr.”

According to the San Ildefonso police report, the suspect was apprehended around 5:15 p.m, on Thursday at a shipment center in Brgy. Malipampang. The victim sought help from the operatives of the Manila District Anti-Cybercrime Team (MDACT) led by PMAJ Reynaldo Salimna

According to the investigation by PSMS Rypson Querijero, the victim complained after the suspect has threatened to kidnap him if he did not send money. As a result, the MDACT coordinated with the San Ildefonso Police led by LTCOL Carl Omar Fiel who immediately conducted an entrapment operation.

Unbeknownst to the suspect, the authorities were already around him when they took the victim’s consignment worth P5,000 so he was immediately arrested. It is said that the fugitive Richard said he would drag the victim and his family in case they did not send money. The suspect is facing a robbery extortion charge.
