Barangay Tanod Doubting COVID-19 Threat Regret After Being Tested Positive
BARANGAY TANOD – A village official regretted doubting the threat of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) after he tested positive for the virus.
Mathew Glenn Belarmino, 37, a barangay tanod in Barangay Gagalangin, Tondo, Manila used to doubt the threat of COVID-19 but changes his mind after being positive with the disease.
In an interview with GMA News, Belarmino said he initially thought he would be safe from the disease despite his position as a frontliner. As a barangay tanod, he is among the first responders who take patients to various hospitals.
His turnaround story began when he was tested positive for the virus. After being contracted, he realized that the COVID-19 is real.
Now, he is thankful as he just recovered from the disease and eventually returned to work. He now encourages others to acknowledge the threat of the pandemic and take precautions.
Meanwhile, a professor who was tested positive with COVID-19 goes hospital-hopping after being denied from many hospitals she went through. Despite the burning fever and barely unable to stand, the professor went to different hospitals for medical treatment.
However, hospital staff denied her as the facility is already filled to the brim. She went to three different hospitals to admitted and get immediate treatment, but all the hospitals greet her with no vacancy for COVID-19 patients.
