Man Arrested In Parañaque Checkpoint After Caught Having Illegal Drugs

According to a report from ABS-CBN News, local city police chief Col. Max Sebastian reported that the suspect under the alias ‘Jeffrey’ a 40-year-old construction worker was on his bike as he head towards the checkpoint at Quirino Avenue past midnight.

Police reported that the suspect was suspicious when they asked for his ID. Due to this, they searched the contents of his pocket and found 4 sachets of suspected drugs.

The suspect claimed that he was about to head home to San Dionisio. He also admitted that he seldom used druggs.

The police deduced that the suspect is a runner who was tasked to purchase illegal drugs.

He is currently detained at the local City Police station  and will face charged for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act..

Based on the report, eight checkpoints were posted in the city ever since the unified curfew was implemented last week.

Sebastian said that this helped reduce the number of violators caught, as well as the number of people outside amid curfew.
