Palawan city health official Dr. Allan Guintapan said that the individual forged the documents because they were worried about not getting the result in time for their trip. He added that the Quezon City surveillance unit told them the result was positive for the visitor.

According to him, he immediately ordered to pull out the positive tourists and brought them to isolation. The resident’s primary contacts were also placed in isolation for swabbing.

In February, a resident also faked his test result to visit Boracay island. Also, two other individuals showed fake RT-PCR test results to be repatriated to their respective provinces.

The four individuals will face charges of violating Republic Act No. 11332 or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act.
