NPA Political Instructor Officer Allegedly Killed in an Encounter Against Army in Kalinga
A political instructor officer of the New People’s Army (NPA) or rebel was allegedly killed in an encounter between the military in Sitio Babacong, Balbalan, Kalinga.
In the report of Remate, the dead body found after the two sides clashed and exchanged gunfire, identified as Rudy Daguitan alias ‘Pinpin’ who allegedly held the position of Political Officer/Political Instructor of KLG Baggas, Ilocos-Cordillera Regional Committee (ICRC).
Based on the report of Remate, apart from the dead body of the suspect found, troops of the 50th Infantry Battalion Philippine Army recovered a gun that may have been left by the rebel group at the scene of the encounter.

Earlier, while the troops were patrolling the area, they were allegedly shot by about twenty members of the rebel group led by an alias Mio of Platoon Guevara, Ilocos-Cordillera Regional Committee (ICRC) Baggas Field Committee.
As of now, the army continues its clearing operations in the possible lanes of the retreating groups that have encountered NPA rebels, based on the report. Earlier, an alleged official of the New People’s Army was killed in a gunfight against authorities in Dupax Del Sur, Nueva Vizcaya.
Based on the previous article, police officers were about to serve a warrant of arrest against the suspect at his residence in Brgy. Kimbutan in the said municipality when the latter fought back.
