This is what happened before Jake Cuenca uploaded the viral proposal prank
Actor Jake Cuenca explained the story behind the proposal prank video that he did with his girlfriend Kylie Verzosa.
Jake uploaded the said video on his Instagram account last February 25 and this received bashing from many netizens. Many said that it was inappropriate to do such a kind of prank.
There were also those who assumed that Kylie looked disappointed that it was just a prank. However, the beauty queen-turned-actress stressed that before taking the video she and Jake knew that it was a prank.
Almost a month after the video was uploaded, Jake Cuenca shared what happened during that night in a recent interview with Inquirer.
“Our friend James told us early on, during the morning, that they will have a surprise for us that night. Even though we got a heads-up, we still got surprised with the beautiful setup they did for us. So we joked about it. I asked Kylie, ‘Grabe! Can you imagine if I proposed to you here?’ It was a joke. In fact, we even took the video twice!” the actor explained.
He added that he did not want to explain to netizens who bashed him because of that. The actor also said that he has no reason to apologize to Kylie because she perfectly knew that it was a joke.
“To the people whose feelings got hurt by the video, I’m sorry; but my girlfriend wasn’t because she knew it was a joke,” he said. Amid the bashing, Jake Cuenca shared that Kylie Verzosa told him not to worry as she was consoling him.
“While everyone seemed to be on her side, defending her, Kylie told me, ‘You didn’t do anything wrong. It’s OK.’ I then told her that I’ve been through worse and that it was fine,” the actor shared.
Aside from this, he also appreciated the effort of his girlfriend to share posts defending him.
