Claudine Barretto Celebrates Rico Yan’s Birthday Extra Special This Year
CLAUDINE BARRETTO – The actress celebrated the birthday of her late ex-boyfriend, former matinee idol Rico Yan.
One of the loveteams in the Philippine showbiz industry that left a huge mark in the hearts of people was the on-screen tandem of Claudine Barretto and Rico Yan. They worked together in several hit projects with their movie, Got 2 Believe, undeniably being the most famous among all they did.
The loveteam of Rico and Claudine hooked fans even more as the two (2) celebrities turned into real-life lovers. They were in a relationship for four (4) years. However, the hopes for their relationship to lead to another level were cut short.
At the age of 27 years old, Rico died. He was in Palawan then together with some of his friends when he passed away of cardiac arrest due to acute hemorrhagic pacreatitis. His death left countless hearts broken.
Claudine was extremely devastated by the death of Rico. In interviews then, she admitted that she really does not know about life after Rico’s passing. She held on to her faith and just kept on praying to get through each day following the loss of the actor.
After a few years, Claudine married actor Raymart Santiago with whom she has two (2) kids – Sabina and Santino. However, they separated after nine (9) years. She welcomed two (2) more children in her home, Quia and Noah, after their separation and focused on being a mother.
It’s been years now since Rico Yan died but Claudine Barretto has visibly kept him in her heart. She usually visits the tomb of the late actor and she also usually mentions him even until now. The actress also never fails to celebrate his birthday.

For this year, Claudine made the celebration of Rico’s birthday extra special. A lot of food were prepared and they even have one (1) whole lechon. She led the prayer and they sang a birthday song for him. She also asked the people to say a prayer for the late actor.
