Video Shows Calbayog Mayor’s Vehicle Ripped by Bullets After Hitting Bridge
Video footage shows how Calbayog Mayor’s vehicle ripped with bullets from the policemen after hitting a bridge rail during the encounter.
A video showed people helping to get out of Calbayog City Mayor Ronaldo Aquino’s van that had crashed into the fence of the bridge after the alleged encounter when a man suddenly approached the vehicle and allegedly shot its occupants again.
In the video shared by the GMA News, a series of gunshots could be heard which caused the people who were watching to run away and would have helped the group of the deceased mayor.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has sent to Calbayog to investigate the incident of the alleged encounter between Aquino’s group and the police. The police first explained that the policemen were patrolling the area when they caught up with Aquino’s van.
The mayor’s group allegedly fired at the authorities because they thought they were being harassed, based on the previous article. The police allegedly returned fire and the authorities did not know that Aquino was in the van.
But Aquino’s family believes that the mayor was ambushed and deliberately overthrown. The mayor allegedly sustained at least 21 gunshot wounds. Five people were killed in the incident along with Aquino’s driver and security escort.
