GUNMAN SHOOTS CHRIST THE KING STATUE – An unidentified assailant stormed a Catholic Church in Kabacan Cotabato and shot the statue of Christ the King Thrice.

According to an article from Inquirer, he fired one bullet just below the heart. Meanwhile, the other two shots hit the statue’s waist and left knee.

Locals in the area such as Rasty Manuel, who was also a devotee of Christ the King, posted images of the shot statue on their Facebook pages. Additionally, witnesses stated that the man appeared to be around 40 years old.

Furthermore, they said that the man was in disarray upon entering the church. As per the article, witnesses said they heard the man screaming “if you are really the powerful God, save yourself“. Afterward, he fired his caliber-45 pistol at the statue.

Meanwhile, Manuel warned the attacker that God knows and sees everything. Moreover, he emphasized that many have challenged God in the past to only regret it in the end.

Authorities theorize that the man was mentally disabled. Additionally, three Catholic chapels were also desecrated three weeks prior in the villages of Lamitan City in Basilan.
