Ex-Barangay Captain Allegedly Shoot Back to Police During Buy-Bust Operation

EX-BARANGAY CAPTAIN – A former government official in Davao City was killed after he allegedly shoot back to operatives during the drug-bust.

In the drug buy-bust operation conducted by Davao City police, a 58-year-old former barangay captain was killed after he resists from the authorities. Based on the report, the suspect was identified as Jorge Taho.

According to police, they staged such an operation against Taho, 58, at an inn in Brgy. Submerged in Toril district but instead of surrendering after the buy-bust, he allegedly tried to shoot the operatives.

Unfortunately, during the exchanges of gunshots, he was allegedly shot which resulted in his death. He was taken to the hospital after the operation but was declared dead on arrival.

About P35,000 worth of shabu was allegedly recovered by the drug operatives from him. A .45 caliber pistol with ammunition was also recovered from the victim.

The suspect was allegedly detained for the same case. However, Taho was released after receiving a plea bargain.
