Miss Universe Philippines Rabiya Mateo showcased her signature walk for the international beauty pageant.
Pageantry is one of the fields that Filipinos are known for all over the world. Over the years, pageant fans in other countries always notices the beauty, grace, and intelligence of Pinay beauty queens.
Aside from preparing the looks and the wardrobe that the contestant will have for the pageant, rehearsals for question and answer portion, as well as the walk, are also being done.
In a recent IG post of Miss Universe Philippines, a short clip showcased the walk of Rabiya Mateo that she will showcase in the Miss Universe pageant. “It’s go time,” the caption of the video of the beauty queen from Iloilo City said.
Past beauty queens who competed internationally have showcased their signature walk – Catriona Gray has her Lava Walk, Pia Wurtzbach has her Tanim Bala Walk, Tsunami Walk belonged to Shamcey Supsup, and Janine Tugonon has Cobra Walk.
Based on the article from The Philippines fans of Rabiya are calling her walk as “Hala Bira Walk”.
The 69th edition of Miss Universe reportedly will be held in May but there is no confirmation yet about this.
Meanwhile, in a previous report, the Miss Universe Organization released a statement that the pageant this year will undergo changes. There will be a new format in order to adapt to the present situation and challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Amid the health crisis, the world of pageantry is one of the greatly affected industries.
