15 Mindanao Fishermen Drifting In Sea For 6 Days Finally Rescued

15 MINDANAO FISHERMEN RESCUED – For 6 days, 15 fishermen from Mindanao were left drifting at sea.

During a trip, the fishermen were caught off-guard due to cyclone Auring. Because of the heavy winds and rainfall, their boat took in a lot of water causing it to sink.

Afterward, they were reported missing for almost a week. Luckily, the Philippine Coast Guard said the fishermen only had minor injuries. Currently, the fishermen have been brought to General Santos City to be transferred to Surigao this Friday.

Last week, Auring intensified into a severe tropical storm. According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration  (PAGASA), areas such as northern Mindanao, Albay, Sorsogon, and the rest of Visayas had moderate to heavy rain.

Meanwhile, in areas such as Misamis Oriental, thousands of fish were found washed up due to the storm in Barangay Bakuna, Tagaloan. However, netizens believe that the unusual incident might be an indication of an impending disaster or calamity.

Unfortunately, the fishermen got caught up in the middle of the storm. Still, surviving the ordeal was an incredible feat in itself. The fishermen are now being taken care of and are expected to get a full recovery.
