Mayor Isko Says 700K Families In Manila Set To Receive Monthly Food Subsidy

MONTHLY FOOD SUBSIDY – Through Manila Mayor Isko Moreno’s Food Security Program (FSP), 700k families in Manila are set to receive monthly food subsidies amid the pandemic.

This subsidy would include 3Kg of rice and 16 canned good along with eight sachets of coffee. According to an article from Inquirer, about P3 billion was already allocated to push the program forward.

During the pandemic, Mayor Isko emphasized that the local government of Manila will strive to ensure no family goes hungry. Moreover, he emphasized that he wanted every family in Manila to eat.

Additionally, he wanted to ensure the public that the ongoing housing projects of Manila would continue despite the struggles brought by the coronavirus pandemic. As per the article, he said:

So whatever we do, big or small, we will make sure that people will benefit from it. In the City of Manila, the people come first. That’s what our direction will be in 2021

Currently, the Philippines has reported over 555,000 cases of COVID-19. Despite this, the Philippines still plans to impose an easing of quarantine restriction nationwide.
