Village Watchman In Sariaya Town Nabbed For Illegal Gun Possession

SARIAYA TOWN – A village watchman in Sariaya town, Quezon, was arrested for alleged illegal possession of a firearm.

Police operatives have arrested the tanod, identified as Alexander Cabula, 49, a watchman in Barangay Bignay I, for carrying an undocumented caliber .45 pistol in the village at 8:30 PM, according to Inquirer.

Cabula was arrested with a pistol grip protruding from his waist. He failed to produce a permit and license for the said firearm.

He was detained at the local police jail and will be charged with illegal possession of firearms and ammunition under the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.

In a separate report, a probationer was nabbed in a buy-bust operation in San Jose town, Antique.

The probationer was selling illegal drugs to a poseur-buyer during a sting operation on Del Pilar Street, Barangay 8.

Retrieved from the suspects were eight sachets of suspected illegal drugs and P4,000 cash.

The probationer was arrested in 2009 for drug pushing and secured a probation years after his conviction. He will face new charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as well as violating his probation.
